Job summary

Kennametal Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Technician for the Roanoke Rapids Quality Labs. The role ensures dimensional and visual acceptance of inserts, calibrates and maintains equipment, and supports engineering projects.

The incumbent reports to the Quality Manager and collaborates across departments. Responsibilities include GMP-aligned inspections, data entry in SAP, and ensuring records are accurate.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Perform gage calibration and maintenance.
• Be proficient in SAP, Microsoft Office, and GageTrak.
• Have 1–3 years of relevant experience (preferred).
• Have vocational training or equivalent industry experience (preferred).
• Effectively use gauges and measurement devices to verify drawings and product specifications.
• Read and understand insert ID charts, process routings, and operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual measurements using comparators and gages.
• Perform calibration and maintain calibration software.
• Conduct in-process inspections of inserts, as needed.
• Conduct internal process audits, as needed.
• Read and interpret dimensions from part prints.
• Perform Cp and Cpk measurements for certification.
• Understand process routing and related procedures.
• Conduct testing to support problem-solving and engineering projects.
• Interface with equipment vendors as needed.
• Work with SAP and perform data entry.
• Maintain timely and accurate records.
• Demonstrate strong coordination and organizational skills.
