Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Quality Systems Engineer to build and lead a robust QMS at a startup manufacturing site in Prince George, VA. You will drive ISO 9001:2015 alignment, establish robust documentation, and lead cross-functional teams to ensure product and process quality from day one.

You’ll work with site leadership to minimize paperwork while maximizing traceability, CAPA effectiveness, and VoC-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Quality discipline required.
• 5–8 years in Quality Engineering or Quality Systems roles; at least 2–3 years leading Quality Management Systems.
• Strong expertise in ISO 9001:2015 implementation and certification maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Establish a strong QMS foundation aligned with Jabil Global QMS and ISO 9001:2015 Standards.
• Own the Quality Policy and measurable quality objectives; monitor performance and drive corrective actions.
• Lead Management Review processes with data-driven decision-making and compliance visibility.
• Auditing & Compliance: plan and execute internal audits across engineering, operations, product management and customer support.
• Track and ensure closure of nonconformities, corrective actions and risk mitigations.

Location/Division Specific Information ** On-site at our Prince George, VA facility. **

This role is to support a new factory in Prince George, VA (onsite) startup manufacturing large form-factor equipment. The product will be large (shipping container size), heavy (50+ tons), and complex. This position will be part of the core factory startup and onboarding team responsible for building the operations and manufacturing staff, fitting out the building, and creating the process flow/work instructions/etc. from the ground up.

Skills to include: panel and point to point wire assembly, Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, and High Power Electronic assemblies.

The Quality Systems Engineer will act as a guardian of Quality, shaping a Quality Management System that thrives on speed, security, and scalability. This position requires proven experience with developing and implementing QMS in a new start up site. The position also requires the skills to lead cross-functional teams to ensure that our products and processes align with ISO 9001:2015 expectations while still honoring the fast-moving rhythm to meet customer expectations. Quality Systems is a rare species- with a blend of technician’s precision while looking for simplicity in solutions. As the glue that brings teams together, the Quality Systems Engineer must lead POSITIVELY while working closely the with site Leadership Team, challenging complacency, and assisting the organization in reaching higher peaks - without drowning teams in paperwork and non-value-added work.

What will you do?

• Quality Management System Leadership- Establish a strong QMS foundation aligned with Jabil Global QMS and ISO 9001:2015 Standards.
• Own the Quality Policy and measurable quality objectives throughout the site; monitor performance and drive corrective actions where needed.
• Lead Management Review processes - ensuring data-driven decision-making and compliance visibility.
• Must have QMS building experience in a startup environment either directly (leading) or indirectly (co-leading, team partner).
• Auditing & Compliance- Plan and execute internal audits across engineering, operations (with focus on IC, Planning and other core Manufacturing Processes), product management, customer support.
• Serve as primary liaison with external auditors, certification bodies, and regulatory partners.
• Track and ensure closure of nonconformities, corrective actions, and risk mitigations.
• A strong grip on basics such as FMEA and Control Plan is a plus point.
• Champion structured problem-solving using 8D, RCA, FMEA, DMAIC or equivalent frameworks.
• Document & Process Ownership- Own lifecycle management for QMS documentation — including processes, SOPs, Work Instructions, and Quality Records.
• Partner with system owners to ensure traceability and version control across Jabil document control tools.
• Customer & Stakeholder Focus- Integrate Voice of Customer (VoC) into QMS improvements and product roadmaps.
• Lead quality representation in major incident reviews and customer-impacting events.
• Track quality KPIs and present insights clearly into executive leadership.
• Training & Culture Building- Develop and deliver ISO 9001:2015 and QMS awareness training for all functions starting at New Employee Orientation.
• Advocate for a proactive quality culture - where quality is everyone’s job, not a bureaucratic checkpoint.

How will you get here?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Quality discipline (Master’s preferred).
• 5–8 years in Quality Engineering or Quality Systems roles; at least 2-3 years in leading Quality Management Systems.
• Strong expertise in ISO 9001:2015 implementation and certification maintenance.
• Proven experience with internal and supplier audits.
• Data-driven mindset — Excel/Sheets mastery is preferred; bonus if familiar with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
• Certifications (preferred): CQE, CQA, Lead Auditor, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Etc.

The pay range for this role is $79,400 - $142,900. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
