Job summary

Prattville Machine, a family-owned business, is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform mechanical inspection on a variety of components, including first piece, in-process and final inspections, in our MA facility. You will operate precision measuring equipment such as CMM, Optical Comparator, Surface Tester, Micro Heights, and related instruments, interpreting drawings and customer specifications.

You will determine acceptance or rejection, maintain records, and notify supervisors of out-of-spec

Qualifications

• Educational/Training Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in a machine shop environment conducting mechanical inspection.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to run CMM with PCDMIS; programming experience is a plus. Work from customer drawings/specifications, or verbal/written instructions from supervisor.
• Ability to work independently and exercise judgment.

Responsibilities

• Perform unusual, difficult, and highly diversified inspection duties. Utilizing all types of precision measuring equipment such as Micro Heights, Optical Comparator, Surface Tester, CMM etc.
• Responsible for determining acceptance or rejection of product notifying department supervisors of product that fails to meet customer specifications.
• Maintain necessary records and move materials as necessary in performance of duties, established company rules and regulations, safety precautions to maintain quality standards.
• Perform other related duties as required or as directed.
