Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is seeking a quality inspector to join the Reliability team, ensuring in-process and final inspections of propulsion components and flight hardware.

You will use precision hand tools, document outcomes, and collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test groups to sustain quality and reliability.

This weekend-shift role offers a 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. PT schedule with 8 overtime hours and a 10% shift premium, plus equity and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of quality inspection experience in aerospace manufacturing.
• Expert proficiency with precision hand tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges).
• Proven ability to work closely with design engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to resolve issues.
• Demonstrated ability to perform thorough inspections and ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Clear communicator interfacing with inspectors, engineers, production personnel, and quality stakeholders.
• MRB experience including non-conforming hardware disposition; ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-process and final inspections on propulsion components and flight hardware.
• Use precision hand tools to perform dimensional inspections.
• Identify process-improvement opportunities and contribute to quality initiatives.
• Review hardware requirements and document pass/fail outcomes and deviations.
• Take closeout photos of large assemblies after final walkdowns.
• Perform FOD inspections using borescopes as needed.
