Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Senior Software Quality Engineer to shape how quality is built into PlayStation peripherals and firmware, not just tested at the end. You will craft test strategies for PlayStation Link devices and influence product performance and player experience.

This role blends hands-on testing with technical leadership, owning test plans for major features, mentoring other QEs, and partnering with engineers, product teams, and operations to raise the bar on

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in software quality engineering or a related testing role.
• Ability to own test strategy and planning for complex features with clear scope and criteria.
• Experience with functional, exploratory, regression, and integration testing, including APIs.
• Familiarity with JIRA, TestRail, or qTest and willingness to learn new tools.
• Strong communication to explain risks and trade-offs to engineers and leaders.
• Experience mentoring others in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Own test strategy and plans for major features, turning unclear requirements into coverage.
• Lead test plan walkthroughs with developers, product managers, and partners ahead of releases.
• Run functional, regression, exploratory, and integration testing and close coverage gaps.
• Investigate complex failures using logs, traces, and metrics, and lead triage and prioritization.
• Mentor junior and mid-level QEs on test design and quality practices.
• Improve QE processes, tooling, and documentation and share learnings with nearby teams.
