Job summary

Sensor Systems, Inc. in Chatsworth, CA, is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the QA Manager in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has an electrical background, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with diverse teams. Responsibilities include evaluating product discrepancies, collaborating with engineers and manufacturing for root cause analysis, inspecting returns, compiling quality reports, and maintaining compliance with AS9100 and FAI (AS9102)

Qualifications

• Electrical background required.
• Aerospace experience and RF experience is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years experience as a Quality Engineer in manufacturing environment.
• Experience with First Article Inspection Reports in accordance to AS9102.
• Experience/Familiar with the requirements of AS9100.
• Experience with Windows software programs, such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members of all levels.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedures and manuals.
• Must be highly responsive to requests, with a high attention for detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assignments relating to product discrepancies and product quality.
• Work closely with engineers and manufacturing for problem resolution and provide quality recommendations.
• Inspect and evaluate customer returned product for defects and reporting.
• Compile quality reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, in process rejections and warranty returns.
• Evaluate and monitor the manufacturing, assembly and testing processes.
• Compile rework and non-conforming trend analysis.
• Review records for completeness including work orders, dimensional check sheets and test data sheets. Verify correctness of test and recorded results.
• Develop reports for management review.
• Maintain compliance to our Material Review Board process for Non-Conformances.
• Reviews non-conforming material reports for trending and corrective actions solutions, including supplier evaluations.
• Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
