Description

ABOUT THE POSITION: This position is vital to the success of our production operations, ensuring we exceed customer expectations by delivering outstanding, high-quality lighting products. As a Senior Quality Engineer, your top priorities will be reducing non-conformance and cost of quality, leading and improving the Quality Management System (QMS), and supporting the Product Development Process. You will engage directly with customers to align on expectations, own the resolution of top customer complaints, and drive improvements through structured problem-solving methodologies.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE: You’ll have 7+ years of Quality Engineering-related experience within a similar manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive, medical, or aerospace industry, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, or another Science-related equivalent. An ASQ certification as a CQE is preferred, along with experience ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You are knowledgeable in ISO 9000 and IATF standards and proficient in statistical analysis tools, Metrology/CMM, and GD&T. Beyond technical expertise, you excel in communication and enjoy training and coaching others on quality standards.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

You will EXPLORE by:

• Developing, maintaining, and improving the J.W. Speaker quality requirements and standards, ensuring flow-down and compliance in all Zones including Molding, SMT, and Assembly.
• Working with NPD, manufacturing engineering, and operations to ensure flawless new product launch.
• Managing, monitoring, and maintaining customer portal requirements including metrics, CCAR, and ECN.
• Developing and maintaining direct relationships with customers regarding quality issues, including interfacing with OEM customers for J.W. Speaker product related issues.

You will INNOVATE by:

• Facilitating continuous improvement efforts in all Zones including Molding, SMT, and Assembly. Assisting in identification, development, and implementation of effective quality control methodologies required to ensure process and product conformity.
• Coaching, driving, and implementing corrective action efforts in key areas.
• Conducting ongoing review, analysis, and reporting of key customer metrics including PPM, Out-of-Box failures and Warranty failures, and recommending improvement efforts based on trend data.

You will PERFORM by:

• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (product-related) including participation in external agency audits, CoP Control Plan development and maintenance, record-keeping, and follow-up where required.
• Potentially overseeing quality technicians for daily receiving inspection, final inspection, NCM disposition execution and raise level of involvement, responsibility, and accountability with team building.
• Supporting Current Engineering in review and implementation of customer-specific requirements relating to product conformity and recommending methods to improve processes and products to better meet requirements.
• Supporting Manufacturing Engineering in development and deployment of Process Core Tools (Dynamic Control Plans, FMEA, etc.) while mentoring and training key personnel in proper use of Core Tools.
