Job summary

Connect Search, LLC is partnering with an established precision machining manufacturer to recruit a hands-on Senior Quality Engineer to lead the quality function and drive improvements across production, inspection, and customer quality. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

The role offers ownership of the quality department with close collaboration with manufacturing, engineering, and company leadership on shop floor improvements and strategic quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of quality experience in CNC machining or precision manufacturing.
• 3+ years of leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Experience with dimensional inspection and precision measurement.
• Familiarity with SPC, process capability, MSA, Gage R&R.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001; automotive/IATF 16949 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop quality engineers, inspectors, and other quality personnel.
• Oversee quality across CNC milling, turning, grinding, and other precision processes.
• Manage dimensional inspection, CMM utilization, calibration and MSA.
• Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions to reduce scrap and customer complaints.
• Maintain and improve the quality management system and conduct audits.
• Support customer requirements through PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, control plans, and capability studies.

What you’ll do:

• Manage dimensional inspection, CMM utilization, calibration, and measurement-system analysis.
• Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions to reduce scrap, rework, and customer complaints.
• Maintain and improve the quality management system, including internal and customer audits.
• Support customer requirements through PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, control plans, and capability studies.

What we’re looking for:

• 7+ years of quality experience in CNC machining or precision manufacturing, including 3+ years of leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, dimensional inspection, and precision measurement.
• Experience with SPC, process capability, MSA, Gage R&R, and structured problem-solving.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001; automotive manufacturing and IATF 16949 experience are preferred.
• A practical leadership style and willingness to work directly with machinists and operators on the shop floor.
