Job summary

Eaton Aerospace Group in North Charleston, SC seeks a Senior Quality Engineer to provide quality engineering support, develop inspection techniques, and drive corrective actions. The role focuses on ensuring design and production meets print and quality standards, while collaborating across internal teams and suppliers.

The position requires on-site work Monday to Friday at the North Charleston facility with relocation assistance available for eligible US residents. ITAR compliance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with 3 years of quality manufacturing engineering experience, or a high school diploma with 6 years of experience.
• U.S. person required; ITAR compliance; sponsorship not offered.
• Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates residing in the USA.

Responsibilities

• Determine, develop, and monitor inspection and verification techniques to meet design requirements, including new product releases for prototype and production products.
• Develop, implement, and monitor all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Maintain accurate records to comply with company and customer record retention requirements.
• Respond to customer corrective action requests including full root cause analysis, determination of permanent corrective actions and follow-up on corrective actions.
• Work with internal and external customers to interpret or reach agreement on quality procedures and acceptability of products.
• Monitor and create action plans to meet key business metrics including Productivity, On-Time Delivery, First Pass Yield, and Cycle Time/Backlog.
• Develop methods to eliminate quality problems and improve manufacturing process through collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain Management, and suppliers.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement and the implementation of Lean activities to eliminate waste in key processes.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $ 115,000 a year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 3 years of quality manufacturing engineering experience …OR… HS degree with 6 years of same experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, industrial or mechanical engineering.
• 5 year of quality mfg. engineering experience
• Strong Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Background
• Experience in aerospace products and applications
• Experience with complex machined materials
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence is preferred
• Six Sigma Black/Green Belt certification
• Quality audit experience preferred
• Knowledge Lean & Six Sigma tools.
• Ability to read blueprints, technical data sheets, and schematics,
• Quality and Metrology knowledge.
