Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. in Methuen, MA is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Engineering on quality activities for Flow and Valve products in a hybrid role.

You will lead cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and implement FMEA, Control Plans and SPC-based process control. The ideal candidate has a 5+ year background in Quality/Manufacturing Engineering, strong data analysis, and experience with quality methodologies such as 8D, FMEA,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or equivalent and 5+ years of Quality / Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Customer / Supplier interaction experience.
  • Experience with Quality and Reliability methodologies and tools such as 8D, FAI, FMEA, DMAIC, Gage R&R, DFx, DOE, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Familiarity with inspection methods, and analytical metrology plus the ability to use inspection equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Engineering and be responsible for quality engineering activities related to Flow and Valve products.
  • Lead and mentor cross functional teams to resolve quality issues and drive product Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Conduct or support Design FMEA and Process FMEA as well as Control Plans.
  • Use statistical methodology to analyze data and implement action plans for control; establish and maintain key parameters for process using SPC in manufacturing.
  • Coach and lead cross-functional teams for Kaizen/Lean/Six Sigma improvement projects.
  • Data analysis using Excel and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Perform internal and external QMS audits with timely closure of findings.
  • Produce clear and concise documents including procedures, reports, training materials and quality records.
  • Travel up to 5% of travel is required.
