Job summary

EnerSys’s Precision Power Solutions division in Largo, FL seeks a Senior Quality Engineer to shape and mature the Quality Management System, supporting high‑voltage, high‑power manufacturing.

You will establish robust controls, document processes, and enable successful product launches while driving quality improvements through DMAIC/8D methods—collaborating with engineering and production teams across the site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
  • Advanced degree or 5+ years of experience in an electromechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience launching new manufacturing lines or processes with hands-on involvement in developing manufacturing quality controls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with ERP, PLM, and MES systems (SAP, Oracle, PTC Windchill).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing process techniques for electronic and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing quality processes, inspection methods, sampling strategies, acceptance criteria, and control documentation for high‑voltage, high‑power product lines.
  • Perform inspections as needed to ensure product and process compliance.
  • Establish foundational quality metrics and data collection methods for supported product lines.
  • Provide quality training and guidance to manufacturing technicians throughout product launch and QMS deployment.
  • Review and approve product documentation for compliance with standards, customer requirements, and QMS expectations while maintaining configuration control.
  • Serve as the primary quality liaison for internal teams and customer representatives, supporting RMAs, inspections, audits, and resolution of customer quality issues.

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to support the development of our products and production capabilities while defining and implementing a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS). This role will be instrumental in maturing manufacturing quality processes, establishing robust documentation and controls, and enabling successful product launches. The ideal candidate has a strong background in high‑voltage, high‑power manufacturing and experience contributing to quality system development in early‑stage environments. This position will primarily support the Rebel Systems site in Largo, FL.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing quality processes, inspection methods, sampling strategies, acceptance criteria, and control documentation for high‑voltage, high‑power product lines
  • Perform inspections as needed to ensure product and process compliance
  • Establish foundational quality metrics and data collection methods for supported product lines
  • Provide quality training and guidance to manufacturing technicians throughout product launch and QMS deployment
  • Review and approve product documentation for compliance with standards, customer requirements, and QMS expectations while maintaining configuration control
  • Serve as the primary quality liaison for internal teams and customer representatives, supporting RMAs, inspections, audits, and resolution of customer quality issues
  • Prepare and participate in internal project reviews to ensure documentation completeness, readiness, and compliance with quality and safety requirements
  • Investigate internal, external, and supplier nonconformances using structured root‑cause analysis (DMAIC, 8D, 5‑Why, fishbone) and implement effective CAPAs
  • Support supplier quality initiatives, evaluate component issues, and participate in supplier development and process change assessments
  • Monitor and control supplier materials, parts, and processes to ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Develop and implement quality procedures, work instructions, and digital tools aligned with the overall Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Lead development and implementation of the site QMS, establishing manufacturing quality controls, documentation practices, and operational standards
  • Prepare and lead ISO 9001 certification efforts
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence across engineering and production teams
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field)
  • Advanced degree or 5+ years of experience in an electromechanical manufacturing environment
  • Experience launching new manufacturing lines or processes with hands‑on involvement in developing manufacturing quality controls
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with ERP, PLM, and MES systems (SAP, Oracle, PTC Windchill, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing process techniques for electronic and electromechanical assemblies
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong technical writing, interpersonal, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong decision‑making and analytical skills with a data‑driven approach
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Desired Qualifications

  • Direct experience in high‑voltage, high‑power electronics manufacturing
  • Experience supporting or leading new product introductions (NPI)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
  • IPC‑610 or IPC‑620 certification, or equivalent training/experience
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent
  • ISO 9001 auditor certification
