Job summary

Smalley is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our Quality Engineering Department in Illinois. This role focuses on leading key continuous improvement projects, applying statistical methods, and addressing quality issues with customers and cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates will have 5–8+ years in manufacturing and experience with IATF 16949, ISO 13485, AS 9100, PPAPs, FMEAs, QMS, audits, and strong root cause analysis skills to drive corrective actions and maintain quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering required.
• Minimum 5–8 years in fast-paced manufacturing.
• Experience with IATF 16949, ISO 13485, AS 9100, PPAPs, FMEAs, QMS, audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement quality projects.
• Apply statistical methods to analyze data and drive efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal/external customers to address questions and resolve issues.
• Coordinate with multiple departments to drive corrective actions.
• Support inspections, internal and supplier audits, and dispositioning of material.
• Conduct internal and supplier audits and customer visits as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
