Job summary

Axalta in Front Royal, VA is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to proactively improve product quality and mitigate risk across manufacturing and lab environments.

You will implement CAPA processes, participate in internal audits, analyze data with Six Sigma methods, and mentor junior staff while aligning with ISO 9001 standards and the Site Quality Management System. The role also requires clear communication and cross-functional teamwork with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree or higher in QA, engineering or chemistry or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in quality engineering, preferably automotive coatings.
• Six Sigma Black Belt or CQE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Executes and oversees CAPA processes and actions.
• Participates in site internal audits and drives improvements.
• Maintains QN and CAPA metrics with trend analysis.
• Applies advanced statistical methods and predictive quality modeling.
• Performs root cause analysis using 5 Why, 8D, CAPA, and FTA.
• Drives continuous improvement and trains staff on quality standards.

This role is eligible for benefits such as health insurance and paid time off. The expected compensation range for this position is $110,000 – $130,000 USD annually.
