Job summary

Lonza in Portsmouth, NH, seeks a Quality Control Manager, PM, to lead QC operations, manage timelines, and drive cross-functional projects in a cGMP environment. You will steer risk management, inspections readiness, and staff development while collaborating with multiple departments and customers.

The role requires a strong leadership presence, extensive QC expertise, and the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry or related science.
• 10+ years of QC industry experience in a cGMP-regulated environment.
• Knowledge of US/European/International Codes, Standards and Practices for pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Demonstrated ability to present ideas publicly to inform, educate and influence others positively.
• Mentoring and leading direct reports.
• Ability to deliver difficult messages to staff and manage performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead QC operations, manage timelines and risks in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
• Drive laboratory performance, readiness for inspections, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee hiring, training and development of QC staff; emphasize operator training and advancement.
• Ensure QC policies are current and compliant; support regulatory and customer audits as required.
• Collaborate with QC leaders and other departments to meet timelines and schedules.
• Represent QC and Lonza in customer meetings to communicate information, requests, and requirements.
• Develop technical, GMP and leadership skills of QC personnel; conduct mid-year and annual reviews.
