Job summary

ArchKey Solutions is seeking a Senior Quality Control Manager to lead QC for electrical construction projects. You will oversee plan development, ensure compliance with codes and safety standards, and coordinate with site teams and management.

The ideal candidate will have extensive senior QC experience in electrical projects, USACE QM certification, and strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Remote work across the United States is supported.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, building construction quality control, or related field.
  • USACE Quality Management for Contractors certification is required; CPR and OSHA 10 certifications are also required.
  • Electrical Master’s License or similar electrical-related qualification is preferred.
  • NFPA 70E & LOTO training will be provided via Click Safety.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project-specific quality control plans aligned with project and company requirements.
  • Build strategic relationships with site QC teams, project management, vendors, and customers; negotiate with vendors as needed.
  • Stay informed of company procedures, materials, technologies, and practices.
  • Establish and help develop training for quality control policies and processes.
  • Enforce NFPA 70E, Arc Flash labeling, PPE requirements for safe electrical conditions.
  • Prepare and distribute daily status reports; report safety issues immediately.
  • Apply LEAN concepts to improve operational efficiency; uphold company DEI commitments.

About The Position

As the Senior Quality Control Manager, you will be responsible for assuring the Company provides the highest quality of electrical construction services and that all stated requirements are met with respect to engineering, management, testing, material, codes, installation, workmanship, construction, finish, functional performance, identification, record keeping and customer relations. This position partners with job site personnel and project management team members as appropriate, to ensure high quality project results are achieved, in alignment with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives and regulations.

Day in the life
  • Develops all project specific quality control (QC) plans for submission in alignment with project and company requirements.
  • Builds strategic and effective relationships with site QC teams, project management team, specialty contractors, vendors, suppliers, user groups and others that reflect and support the Company’s core values and meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations. Negotiates with vendors as needed.
  • Stays informed of new and changing Company procedures, policies, materials, technologies, techniques, and practices.
  • Establishes and helps develop training for company quality control policies and processes.
  • Understands and enforces NFPA 70E, interprets and implements protection settings, Arc Flash labeling, and PPE requirements to ensure safe electrical conditions.
  • Prepares, distributes, and maintains daily reports summarizing information related to current project status. Reports all safety issues or concerns immediately to the designated safety personnel on site.
  • Consistently makes decisions in an attentive and safe manner to ensure the safety and health of self and others.
  • Utilizes LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure the most efficient operations, processes, and activities.
  • Promotes and models the Company mission, vision and values through exercising sound and ethical business practices, championing all elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and providing high-quality services and programs as they relate to clients, subcontractors, co-workers, suppliers, and the public.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in electrical engineering, building construction quality control, or a related field. USACE Quality Management for Contractors certification is required. CPR certification and OSHA 10 certifications are also required. Electrical Master’s License or similar electrical-related qualification is preferred. NFPA 70E & LOTO training will be required & provided through Click Safety.
  • Minimum 8+ years of senior electrical quality control experience, plus experience and skills to read, analyze, and interpret electrical plans, blueprint drawings, specifications, technical data submittals, common scientific and technical journals. Extensive knowledge of construction, building and electrical codes.
  • Familiarity with EM385, NESC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 101A and 101B, NFPA 780, LOTO procedures.
  • Experience with and ability to professionally respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and customer representatives, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to clients, stakeholders, senior leadership, and site employees. Must have appropriate strong computer skills and be able to use information technology and specific applications to document and report, using required software.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, then apply appropriate methods and procedures to create and facilitate applicable solutions and alleviate conflict.
  • Extensive experience with project management methodologies, leadership, and practices. Thorough understanding of the project life cycle.
  • In-depth training and experience with LEAN methodologies and applications. Strong process orientation.
  • Strong business analysis and mathematical skills. Skills to read and interpret financial documents. Strong organizational, critical thinking skills and detail orientation.
  • Excellent customer focus, delegation, presentation, and decision-making skills. Demonstrated high level of integrity and dependability.
  • Superior listening, verbal, and written communication skills. Effective independent problem solving, negotiation, time management and prioritization skills. Strong collaboration, coaching, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with diverse work teams.
Travel
  • Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Occasional to extensive travel is required as needed.
