Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Lead to oversee QA across complex technology modernization and application implementation projects in the United States. You will develop test strategies, lead testing efforts, and ensure solutions meet business, functional, technical, security, performance, and compliance requirements.

You will mentor junior QA staff and drive continuous improvement within Agile delivery teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Six years of professional experience in software quality assurance, testing, or related discipline.
  • Experience leading testing efforts for Agile software development, system implementation, or technology modernization projects.
  • Experience developing test strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, and QA documentation.
  • Experience supporting functional testing, SIT, UAT, and regression testing.
  • Experience planning and executing performance, load, and scalability testing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of comprehensive test strategies, plans, and test cases for enterprise applications.
  • Oversee functional, system integration, regression, UAT, performance, load, accessibility, and security testing activities.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and developers to ensure test coverage aligns with business and technical requirements.
  • Develop and maintain requirements traceability between business requirements, user stories, test cases, defects, and testing results.
  • Coordinate and support UAT activities with business stakeholders and end users.
  • Lead SIT activities to validate interfaces, integrations, data exchanges, and end-to-end processes.
  • Manage defect lifecycles including triage, prioritization, reporting, root-cause analysis, and resolution tracking.
  • Analyze test results and provide actionable recommendations to improve solution quality and reduce project risk.
  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of automated testing approaches and testing best practices.
  • Support the integration of testing activities into Agile, CI/CD, and DevSecOps delivery processes.
  • Ensure compliance with accessibility, security, audit, and regulatory requirements (Section 508).
  • Develop quality metrics, dashboards, and status reporting for project leadership.
  • Mentor and support junior QA team members to foster a culture of quality.

What You Will Do

Guidehouse Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Leads oversee quality assurance activities across complex technology modernization and application implementation projects. They are responsible for developing test strategies, leading testing efforts, and ensuring solutions meet business, functional, technical, security, performance, and compliance requirements. Senior QA Leads work closely with business analysts, developers, product owners, and stakeholders to identify risks, improve product quality, and support successful delivery of enterprise applications. They establish testing best practices, drive continuous improvement, and ensure applications meet established quality standards while supporting Agile software delivery initiatives.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases for enterprise applications.
  • Oversee functional, system integration, regression, user acceptance, performance, load, accessibility, and security testing activities.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and developers to ensure test coverage aligns with business and technical requirements.
  • Develop and maintain requirements traceability between business requirements, user stories, test cases, defects, and testing results.
  • Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities with business stakeholders and end users.
  • Lead System Integration Testing (SIT) activities to validate interfaces, integrations, data exchanges, and end-to-end business processes.
  • Manage defect lifecycles including defect triage, prioritization, reporting, root cause analysis, and resolution tracking.
  • Analyze test results and provide actionable recommendations to improve solution quality and reduce project risk.
  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of automated testing approaches and testing best practices.
  • Support the integration of testing activities into Agile, CI/CD, and DevSecOps delivery processes.
  • Ensure compliance with accessibility, security, audit, and regulatory requirements, including Section 508 compliance standards.

What You Will Need

U.S. Citizenship or authorization to work in the United States with the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust clearance.

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum six (6) years of professional experience in software quality assurance, testing, or a related discipline.
  • Experience leading testing efforts for Agile software development, system implementation, or technology modernization projects.
  • Experience developing test strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, and quality assurance documentation.
  • Experience supporting functional testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and regression testing activities.
  • Experience planning and executing performance, load, and scalability testing efforts.
  • Experience developing and maintaining requirements traceability throughout the testing lifecycle.
  • Experience managing defects and supporting root cause analysis and issue resolution.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, DevSecOps practices, and software development lifecycle processes.
  • Experience utilizing test management and defect tracking tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
What Would Be Nice To Have
  • Experience in a consulting or client-facing role.
  • Experience supporting federal government technology modernization initiatives.
  • Experience testing financial management, budgeting, procurement, acquisition, or workflow management solutions.
  • Experience supporting Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) processes or related financial systems.
  • Experience testing Appian applications or other low-code platforms.
  • Experience supporting Section 508 accessibility testing and compliance validation.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar testing and requirements management platforms.
  • Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe, PMP, or other quality assurance and Agile certifications.
