Job summary

TP-Link Systems Inc. is seeking a Senior Cloud QA Engineer to own testing for cloud services, lead testing strategy development, and mentor junior engineers.

You will validate distributed microservices, ensure reliability at scale, and collaborate with R&D to deliver high-quality cloud Solutions. Responsibilities include designing coverage, leading testing efforts, improving CI/CD testing, and performing performance and scalability assessments across distributed back-end services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of cloud service testing or related software engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
  • Proficiency in Python or Java for automation scripting.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the testing owner for cloud service projects or modules and ensure testing quality.
  • Design testing strategies and test coverage based on system architecture.
  • Analyze cloud service architecture to identify quality risks in microservices.
  • Lead testing activities and coordinate with developers to resolve issues.
  • Develop and improve cloud testing frameworks, automation tools, and CI/CD integration.
  • Conduct performance, scalability, and reliability testing for distributed backend services.
  • Investigate production issues, reproduce defects, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Guide junior QA engineers and support their growth.
  • Explore new testing methodologies to improve efficiency and quality.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud QA Engineer to join our growing QA team. In this role, you will act as the testing owner for cloud service projects or modules, leading testing efforts and ensuring high-quality delivery for cloud systems supporting TP-Link’s networking and smart home ecosystem.

You will work closely with R&D engineers and QA teams to validate the functionality, reliability, and scalability of cloud systems. This role requires a strong understanding of cloud architectures, distributed systems, and microservices environments, as well as the ability to design effective testing strategies and mentor junior engineers.

  • Conduct performance, scalability, and reliability testing for distributed backend services
  • Investigate production issues, reproduce defects, and contribute to root cause analysis
  • Provide technical guidance to junior QA engineers and support their technical growth
  • Continuously explore new testing methodologies and technologies to improve testing efficiency and product quality
Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in cloud service testing, backend system testing, or related software engineering roles
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices-based cloud architectures, with the ability to understand service interactions and identify testing risks
  • Experience working with containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience working with AWS cloud services or similar cloud platforms
  • Familiarity with backend technologies such as MySQL, MongoDB, Kafka, or similar middleware
  • Proficiency in Python or Java for automation scripting or test tooling development
  • Hands‑on experience with performance, scalability, and reliability testing
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex distributed systems
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering teams
Additional Skills (Preferred, But Not Required)
  • Experience leading testing efforts for complex projects or modules
  • Experience with IoT cloud platforms or smart home ecosystems
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and security basics
  • Experience exploring or applying AI‑assisted tools to improve testing efficiency, automation, or defect analysis
  • The ability to evaluate and promote practical AI adoption within QA workflows is a strong plus
  • Bilingual in Mandarin and English is a plus
