Job summary

Kira seeks a Senior Quality & Automation Engineer to raise the quality bar across our platform, focusing on scalable automated testing for web, API, and AI-driven workflows. You will modernize testing and release confidence, leveraging AI tools to accelerate test creation, maintenance, and coverage.

The role is full-time with hybrid work from San Francisco or New York, four days in-office weekly (Wednesday WFH).

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in quality engineering, test automation, or SDET roles.
• Experience with modern testing frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Jest, JUnit, PyTest).
• Experience building automated end-to-end test suites in CI/CD.
• Hands-on experience with performance/load testing tools (k6, Artillery, Gatling, JMeter, Locust).
• Experience designing workload models and interpreting latency, throughput, and concurrency.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality, reliable experience across web, API, and AI-driven workflows.
• Define and evolve quality strategy across frontend, backend, and AI services.
• Design and implement scalable automated testing across end-to-end, integration, regression, and performance layers.
• Own performance/load testing for critical workflows (login surges, classroom activity, submissions, AI services).
• Build workload models, establish baselines, and validate capacity targets before launches.
