Job summary

AutoZone is seeking a seasoned Quality Engineer to establish QE best practices, write test scenarios, and execute manual and automated tests. You will mentor others and collaborate with engineers, business analysts, and product owners to ensure quality across systems.

The role covers functional, end-to-end, integration, and API testing, with experience in tools like Jira, Selenium, SoapUI, Squish, and Jenkins. Strong Java/SQL/Unix skills and CI/CD exposure are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with appropriate experience.
• 7+ years of experience in Quality engineering including functional testing and test automation solutions.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on time.
• Extensive experience with SDLC and QA methodologies including Functional, E2E, Automation, Regression, Usability testing.
• Expertise in Testing Life Cycle and Defect Life Cycle.
• Hands-on experience with Jira, Selenium, SoapUI, Squish, Jenkins.
• Knowledge of Java, SQL, Unix and scripting languages.
• Experience in test data management and exposure to tools.
• Experience in CI/CD/CT model.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Exposure to Agile methodology.
• Experience in web service/API/REST testing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, business analysts, product owners and team members to understand requirements and develop test strategy.
• Develop test plans, create and execute test cases.
• Write and maintain test automation scripts.
• Perform functional, system, integration, and end-to-end tests for new and existing applications.
• Participate in review and approval of project deliverables.
• Advise teams on testing approaches and tools.
• Coordinate test environments and establish appropriate test setups.
• Oversee defect tracking, reporting, and QA metrics.
• Identify, track, and prioritize defects toward resolution.
• Test production emergency bug fixes and support releases.
