Job summary

Genentech is seeking a QC Senior Associate I (Software Developer Specialist) to bridge laboratory sciences and digital automation, developing specialized software configurations and automated workflows to optimize QC processes and ensure data integrity in a regulated environment.

You will collaborate with global teams to drive system enhancements, support validation, and ensure alignment with cGMP while helping deliver life-saving therapies safely to patients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8–11 years of experience in Computer Science, Life Sciences, or related field.
• Pharma industry experience with 8+ years; 5+ years in Software Development or Quality Control.
• Expert knowledge of computer-based systems, Biovia software, and BPMN workflow design.
• Solid understanding of cGMP, data integrity, and validation principles.
• Experience with regulated labs and techniques such as chromatography, spectrometry, coulometry, or particle analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with limited direction and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop automated workflows and recipes within the Biovia software system to support laboratory operations.
• Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose system enhancements.
• Detect, report, and document software defects; test new features and support improvements.
• Design and enhance user interfaces and data reporting in lab informatics systems.
• Prepare and maintain detailed validation records following Good Documentation Practices.
• Assist integration and functionality of laboratory software systems (LIMS, ELN/LES, instruments).
