Job summary

Jobtailor in Pleasanton, CA is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance professional to support medical device QA, inspection, and verification activities throughout product development.

You will perform first article inspections, develop CMM routines, read engineering drawings, ensure GD&T compliance, maintain documentation, and mentor technicians while driving continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience in medical device QA/inspection.
• Proficient reading and interpretation of GD&T.
• Experience with CMM programming and measurement data analysis (SPC, Minitab).
• Ability to read engineering drawings and perform first article inspections.
• On-site in Pleasanton, travel ~10%.
• Able to lift 25 pounds, sit up to 8 hours.
• Excellent communication and training abilities.
• Familiar with Good Documentation Practices and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Support Design Quality Assurance to ensure devices meet requirements.
• Support product development for safety, reliability, compliance.
• Perform routine and first article inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, CMMs and other instruments.
• Develop CMM routines based on drawings, GD&T and design specs.
• Provide input on inspection procedures and test methods.
• Assist in Gage R&R studies and test method validation.
• Support design verification/validation testing and other engineering tests.
• Maintain good documentation and record nonconformities.
• Assist in training quality technicians on inspection/testing methods.
• Perform other quality tasks as assigned.
