Job summary

Synergy is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Assurance Analyst to join our government client team. You will lead QA efforts, develop and execute manual and automated tests for web applications and APIs, and mentor junior analysts in best practices.

You will apply SDLC and Agile expertise, review automated scripts for efficiency, and collaborate across cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality product delivery and successful deployments.

Qualifications

• Manual & automated testing for web apps, APIs, and integrated systems.
• Ability to review/execute automated scripts with Selenium or FitNesse; Python a plus.
• Develop test cases from user stories and requirements.
• Strong SQL to validate data and behavior.
• Experience testing RESTful and SOAP APIs and web services.
• Familiarity with test management tools (Jira, Quality Center).
• Knowledge of SDLC and Agile; ability to work in sprints.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail; troubleshooting skills.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; defect tracking & resolution.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA activities, providing technical leadership to junior analysts.
• Develop and execute manual and automated tests for web apps and APIs.
• Create detailed test plans from user stories and requirements.
• Review automated tests to improve coverage and efficiency.
• Contribute to automation scripts in repositories.
• Support sprint planning, estimation, and cross-team collaboration.
• Manage defects and document test results and reports.
• Validate deployments and production readiness; mentor juniors.
