Job summary

Hometap is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to ensure the quality of our homeowner platform, investor tools, and internal systems. You will lead automation efforts, drive UAT programs, and work closely with the Product and DevOps teams to deliver reliable software as we scale nationwide.

With 5+ years in web testing, you will mentor others, implement automated testing in CI/CD, and contribute to release readiness. This role includes equity, comprehensive benefits, and a work-from-home stipend.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in web application testing.
• Strong command of QA processes, testing methodologies, and best practices across product development.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with web QA automation tools and frameworks.
• Experience conducting code reviews of test automation code and mentoring others on best practices.
• Proficiency in JavaScript for writing automated tests; able to learn additional languages as needed.
• Experience implementing CI/CD-driven automated testing and collaborating with DevOps.
• Experience with API testing and UI/UX testing.
• Ability to translate feature requirements into test plans with multiple stakeholder perspectives.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code).
• Strong exploratory testing skills and a high-quality bar.

Responsibilities

• QA and regression-test software for Hometap’s platforms and tools.
• Drive user acceptance testing (UAT) programs with internal stakeholders and end users.
• Architect, build, and extend automated regression testing suite; mentor engineers on framework and practices.
• Design solutions to automate testing of third-party integrations.
• Collaborate with DevOps to manage AWS sandbox environments and robust pipelines using Docker/AWS.
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies to aid the QA team and the tech org.
• Partner with Product to understand features and write automation for them.
• Be a key stakeholder in release readiness validation to prevent premature releases.
