Job summary

Wrench Group is seeking a hands-on Lead QA Engineer embedded in the Engineering & Product organization in the United States. You will define, measure, and scale quality, driving AI-powered testing to increase coverage, speed, and reliability while executing with the team.

You will lead QA strategy, frameworks, and release-quality efforts, partnering with Engineering and Product to embed quality in every release and to drive continuous improvement across multi-brand home services platforms.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years in QA / Software Testing, including leadership experience.
• Proven ability to operate as a player-coach (hands-on + leadership).
• Experience building or scaling QA frameworks in modern web environments (SaaS).
• Strong understanding of test automation, APIs, and release processes.
• Background in performance or load testing and the tooling that supports it (k6, JMeter, or equivalent).
• Experience working with AI-enabled QA tools or a strong interest in adopting them (Postman,RestAssured, or AI-assisted API validation agents).
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, outcome-driven environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead Hands-On Quality Execution: participate in test planning, development, and execution.
• Own QA Strategy & Frameworks: define end-to-end QA strategy and scalable tests.
• Drive AI-First Testing Operations: implement AI-driven testing approaches and tools.
• Manage Release Quality: establish release readiness criteria and quality gates.
• Lead Contractors & Delivery: manage QA contractors and align to sprint priorities.
• Own Defect Lifecycle & Reporting: lead defect tracking and provide quality metrics.
• Improve Through Post-Incident Reviews: perform root-cause analysis for production issues.
• Partner Cross-Functionally: collaborate with Engineering and Product on requirements.
