Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking a Senior Quality Engineering Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable web automation frameworks using Playwright and Selenium with Java. You will work with developers, product owners, and DevOps to improve quality and speed of delivery.

You will implement comprehensive testing across multiple apps, integrate with CI/CD, and drive best practices in test data, reusable components, and coverage.

Qualifications

• At least six years of experience in web application test automation.
• Hands-on Java programming experience for automation frameworks.
• Experience with Cucumber and behavior-driven development.
• Strong experience in functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Ability to design, execute, and maintain test cases from requirements.
• Experience analyzing automated test results and defect resolution.
• Experience building reusable automation components and scalable frameworks.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable web automation frameworks using Playwright and Selenium with Java.
• Implement functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing across apps and platforms.
• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD via Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Develop and execute test cases, analyze results, and document defects.
• Establish test-data strategies, automation standards, and reusable components.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, product owners, and DevOps for test coverage.
• Participate in requirements reviews, test planning, risk assessments, and release readiness.
• Monitor automation coverage, testing efficiency, defect trends, and quality metrics.
