Old Mission is hiring a Senior Python Software Engineer to build reliable, scalable systems for global trading. You will develop execution platforms and real-time trader-facing applications, integrating with trading systems and data infrastructure.

The role requires 5+ years of Python in production, strong Linux skills, and experience with databases or storage tech like Kafka, Ceph or Iceberg. On-site with a ten-day-per-year remote option supports flexible teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS/Math/Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional Python experience in production.
• Strong Python proficiency on Linux platforms.
• Familiar with relational databases and/or messaging/object storage (Kafka, Ceph, Iceberg).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative team player.

About The Position

We are actively hiring a Senior Python Software Engineer with a passion for building reliable systems at scale. This role involves developing and supporting execution platforms, real-time trader-facing applications integrated with our trading systems, large-scale data and research systems, and automation of trader workflows. You will bring proven expertise in Python to distributed systems supporting global trading across the firm.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related Engineering/Science discipline
• A minimum of 5 years of professional Python experience in a production environment
• High proficiency in Python on Linux Platforms
• Familiarity with relational databases and/or enterprise messaging/object storage (Kafka, Ceph, Iceberg)
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Base Salary Range

$200,000 - $250,000 - Salaries are based on numerous factors such as skills, experience, and education. Our compensation package also includes a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits program for full-time employees. For more information, reach out to your recruiter.
