Job summary

Prestige Staffing is seeking a Senior Python Engineer in Alpharetta for a hybrid role combining remote and on-site work. You will design, build, and maintain Python backend services and REST APIs to power a data-centric clearinghouse product, using a cloud-native stack.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, optimize data pipelines, and ensure scalable, reliable systems with modern deployment practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, specializing in cloud-native backend development.
• Extensive experience building production-grade Python applications and RESTful APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Solid proficiency with AWS services including Lambda, ECS/Fargate, API Gateway, S3, and RDS.
• Strong SQL skills with experience in query design and performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience working with data lakes (e.g., S3, Redshift) and data pipelines.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and modern deployment practices (CI/CD workflows).
• Familiarity with service reliability, observability, logging, and monitoring best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python backend services and REST APIs to enable core product features.
• Collaborate with data engineers to integrate data from lakes and warehouses, ensuring efficient data consumption.
• Construct well-structured, maintainable code with an eye toward scalability and long-term support.
• Define API contracts and service boundaries to optimize performance and usability for internal and external consumers.
• Interface with data pipelines and perform SQL tuning to support application features.
• Implement security best practices, including authentication and authorization, across services.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and collaborative planning sessions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across application, storage, and integration layers, continuously improving system reliability.
• Contribute to ongoing development of backend patterns, tooling, and dev workflows.
