Job summary

Orbit Search is seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer to design, build, and maintain data integrations and pipelines supporting its finance, warehousing, and distribution operations.

You will work directly with APIs and ETL workflows to move and transform data across multiple systems. This is a hands-on engineering position offering collaboration with a team while also taking full ownership of projects from design through delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Python development experience.

You will work directly with APIs and ETL workflows to move and transform data reliably across multiple systems. This is a hands‑on engineering position offering the opportunity to collaborate with a team while also taking full ownership of projects from initial design through delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production Python applications and services.
• Build and manage ETL pipelines that extract, transform, and load data across systems.
• Build and consume internal and third‑party RESTful APIs.
• Develop technical solutions supporting finance, warehousing, and distribution processes.
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code with appropriate documentation.
• Troubleshoot, monitor, and optimize data workflows for accuracy, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Independently manage and deliver projects from start to finish.

Required Qualifications

• At least five years of professional software development experience using Python.
• Strong hands‑on experience designing and consuming REST/JSON APIs.
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines and data integrations.
• Industry experience within finance, warehousing, and/or distribution.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Ability to work effectively both collaboratively and independently.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing integrations with Amazon APIs, such as the Selling Partner API or MWS, is a significant advantage.
• Experience with cloud platforms and data warehousing technologies.
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration and automation tools.
• Experience using Git and working with CI/CD practices.
