Job summary

Prince William County Police Department seeks an experienced Senior Criminal Intelligence Analyst to lead data and intelligence analysis, producing actionable insights for policing strategies and investigations. You will harness crime data, develop reporting processes, and guide the team while working with other agencies to enhance community safety.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience in data and intelligence analysis within public safety, and the ability to learn new tools

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 5 years relevant experience in data, crime, or intelligence analysis within law enforcement, intelligence agencies, or public safety settings, or research in public safety, or government service.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, statistics, business, or criminal intelligence, or related field.
• Proficiency in analytic software, Microsoft Office, and open-source tools
• Familiarity with GIS mapping, presentation software, and data visualization techniques.
• Ability to learn new programs quickly and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze law enforcement data, identify criminal activity patterns and trends.
• Forecast trends to aid staffing and deployment of personnel.
• Provide investigative support and actionable insights for policing strategies.
• Train new analysts and conduct peer reviews of analytical work.
• Expand real-time analytical capabilities and cross-agency collaboration.
