Page Executive in New York is seeking a Senior PR Manager to lead firmwide public relations for a top global law firm. You will develop strategies, shape the firm’s reputation, and work with partners to raise profile through media.

You will manage a team of four, coach leaders for media interviews, monitor trends, and coordinate cross-office campaigns, with a hybrid schedule and strong bonus potential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required with 8+ years PR/media relations experience in legal or professional services.
  • 5+ years of managerial experience with direct reports.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and upskill team members.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong industry knowledge and media relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute firmwide PR strategies to enhance visibility, reputation, and market positioning.
  • Build and manage relationships with journalists and outlets to secure coverage.
  • Pitch and place media opportunities showcasing firm expertise and thought leadership.
  • Collaborate with Practice Groups, BD, and Marketing to align communications with objectives.
  • Lead media strategy development, press materials, announcements, and award submissions.

  • Monitor media coverage and industry trends to provide insights.
  • Coordinate PR across offices for global alignment.
  • Mentor a team of 4 PR professionals and manage performance.

Job Description
  • Develop and execute firmwide public relations strategies that enhance the visibility, reputation, and market positioning of the firm's practices, attorneys, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Build, maintain, and leverage relationships with influential journalists, editors, and media outlets across legal, business, and industry publications to secure meaningful coverage and commentary opportunities.
  • Identify, pitch, and place media opportunities that showcase firm expertise, client work, market insights, and partner thought leadership on emerging legal and business issues.
  • Collaborate closely with Practice Groups, Business Development, and Marketing teams to align external communications with strategic business objectives and growth priorities.
  • Lead the development of media strategies, messaging frameworks, press releases, announcements, award submissions, and profile-raising campaigns for firm initiatives and lateral partner arrivals.
  • Prepare and coach partners and firm leaders for media interviews, press engagements, speaking opportunities, and other public-facing communications.
  • Monitor media coverage, market developments, client activity, and industry trends, providing actionable insights and strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate public relations efforts across offices to ensure consistent messaging, effective campaign execution, and global alignment.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of (4) PR and communications professionals, overseeing work quality, workload allocation, professional development, and performance management.
  • Track and analyze media engagement metrics and campaign performance, using data-driven insights to improve future public relations initiatives and communications strategies.
  • Establish and implement PR best practices, departmental processes, and operational guidelines that drive efficiency, consistency, and excellence across the communications function.
  • Contribute to long-term communications planning and departmental leadership while supporting broader firm business development, brand-building, and growth objectives.
The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior PR Manager should have:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8+ years of experience with public relations strategies and media relations in legal or professional services organizations
  • 5+ years of managerial experience with direct reports
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading, managing and upskilling team members
  • Strong capabilities to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and shifting priorities in fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills to monitor and evaluate PR performance
  • Collaborative approach to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Significant knowledge of the industry and business acumen including maintaining relationships with media outlets and journalists.
What’s on Offer
  • New York - Base salary range $200,000 to $240,000 + annual bonus
