Job summary

AFC Materials Group is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to lead the PTFE coating operation in Lake in the Hills, IL. The role focuses on standardizing coating processes, driving improvements, and delivering cost reductions.

You will manage projects, mentor operators, and collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure product quality and process capability. Requires 5+ years in manufacturing and a BS in Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing/process engineering.
• Experience with plastics manufacturing or similar time/temperature controlled processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead coating department activities and optimize PTFE coating processes.
• Define and maintain process parameters for consistency across products and shifts.
• Develop and implement new coating processes and equipment.
• Establish control plans and capability studies for the coating line.
• Drive Lean Six Sigma projects to reduce variation and costs.
• Train coating operators and create supporting SOPs and work instructions.
