Job Description And Duties

Patton State Hospital, Human Resources Department, is accepting applications for at least (1) Permanent, Full-Tiem Senior Psychiatrist (Specialist) position. The Senior Psychiatrist (Spec) works under the Senior Psychiatrist (Supervisor) in the Psychiatry Residency Program .

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Providing psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, individualized treatment planning, medication management, and routine and emergency psychiatric care.
• Monitoring patient progress, adjusting treatment as clinically indicated, and maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary treatment teams to coordinate patient care.
• Supporting the Residency Program Director with educational and administrative functions, accreditation activities, and continuous program improvement.
• Participating in resident, selection, orientation, and evaluation.
• Providing direct teaching, clinical supervision, and evaluation of psychiatry residents.
• Collaborating with facility on curriculum development, didactic instruction, grand rounds, and academic conferences.
• Supporting resident professionalism and performance, quality improvement, and an educational environment consistent with Accreditation council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) standards.
