Job summary

Alameda Health System seeks a psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management across emergency, urgent care, and inpatient settings. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and supervise trainees while ensuring culturally competent care.

Qualified candidates will hold an MD or DO, be licensed in California (or eligible for psychiatry certification), and have experience in community mental health services.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathic medicine.
• Postgraduate Training License or California license with psychiatry eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Acts as physician member of a multi-disciplinary team for clinical work or program development.
• Conducts and directs individual and group psychotherapy.
• Confers with patients’ relatives regarding illness and treatment.
• Maintains records of diagnosis, treatment and prognosis per regulatory standards.
• Prescribes treatment plans and psychotherapy or rehabilitation programs.
• Provides clinical supervision to licensed and professional staff.
• Provides psychiatric evaluation and treatment across settings including emergency, urgent care, and inpatient services.
• Trains and supervises interns and residents.
