Job summary

Schwan’s Shared Services, LLC is seeking a Senior Food Scientist - Protein at our Gahanna, Ohio facility. The role leads protein product development, formulates advanced processing procedures, and ensures new products meet pricing and regulatory goals, while supporting marketing and production teams.

Responsibilities include developing experimental formulas, leading test runs, and guiding start-ups of new products or improvements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Food Science or closely related field, or a bachelor’s degree in Food Science or closely related field.
• 2+ years of experience as a Food Scientist, Food Technologist, or similar role with a master’s degree.
• 5+ years of experience as a Food Scientist, Food Technologist, or similar role with a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead product development projects by creating complex formulas, processing procedures, and specs for new products, enhancements, and cost reductions.
• Provide advanced technical support to marketing, sales, operations and external customers.
• Develop experimental formulas and specs for raw ingredients, subassemblies and finished products; validate reproducibility for production.
