Job summary

Bartech Staffing seeks an Electrical Engineer IV to provide advanced engineering support for electric utility transmission and distribution projects, focusing on protection and control, relay applications, and substation design documentation.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, performing reliability analyses, supporting capital projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, compliant grid operation and on-schedule implementation.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Experience reading electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and protection/ control prints.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and protection & control drawings.
• Support design, installation, modification, and maintenance activities for protection and control systems.
• Perform evaluations, calculations, and analyses related to power system reliability and equipment performance.
• Provide technical support for transmission, distribution, and substation projects.
• Review relay applications, relay settings, and protection schemes for compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, field personnel, and project teams to resolve technical issues.
• Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, and troubleshooting efforts.
• Support commissioning, testing, and field implementation of protection and control equipment.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation, design packages, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements.
