Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
  • 5+ years of related work experience.
  • 1+ years in propulsion and thermodynamics.
  • Foundational knowledge of gas turbine engine operation.
  • Experience with engine performance modeling tools and methods.
  • Proficiency with Linux/Unix computing systems and shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for engine and airplane certification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes steady-state engine performance and detailed thermodynamic cycle data
  • Assesses engine operation across various conditions and certifies operating characteristics
  • Analyzes and communicates engine performance impacts on airplane subsystem performance
  • Collaborates with disciplines across the airplane to provide engine performance expertise
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and contributes to certification documentation
  • Conducts data analysis and risk assessments for flight tests
  • Coordinates with engine suppliers on engine/airplane performance throughout an airplane program's lifecycle
