Job summary

Inversion in Playa Vista, CA is seeking a Senior Propulsion R&D Technician to enable rapid production and testing of propulsion hardware, working with propulsion engineers to execute metrology, metallography, inspection, assembly, integration and testing necessary to demonstrate a design can meet our goals.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in aerospace or propulsion, is hands-on, quick to learn, and able to perform tests and operate instrumentation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. government clearance (Secret/Top Secret).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years aerospace/propulsion experience.
• 2+ years experience with additive manufacturing hardware development.
• Experience in an R&D environment.
• Positive attitude, eagerness to learn and grow, team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with propulsion engineers to aid development of new hardware.
• Build and test propulsion hardware such as components, actuators, and engines.
• Perform pneumatic and hydraulic pressure testing of propulsion components.
• Perform metallography including preparation, inspection, and testing with applicable devices.
• Execute experiments, analyze data, and develop processes for additive manufacturing optimization.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shop.
