Job summary

Landrum & Brown, a global aviation consulting firm, seeks an experienced Senior Proposal Specialist to lead the development of high-quality proposals for aviation and transportation clients. You will manage full proposal lifecycles, coordinate with technical staff and leadership, ensure compliance, and tailor materials for each pursuit.

A minimum of 10 years' career experience with 5–10 years in proposal development is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, journalism, English, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 10+ years of career experience including 5–10 years in proposal development, preferably in aviation or transportation.
• Experience in other Architecture, Engineering & Construction sectors is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors, omissions, and compliance issues.
• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, organizational and project-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines without sacrificing quality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration across teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign; additional Adobe Suite preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review documents to identify requirements, evaluation criteria, deadlines, and compliance needs.
• Develop schedules, outlines, compliance matrices, assignments, and production plans.

• Write, edit, and refine proposal content to be clear, accurate, and responsive.
• Tailor resumes, project descriptions, and materials for each pursuit.
• Coordinate graphics, formatting, and final production in line with branding.
• Perform quality-control reviews for accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
• Manage final electronic and print submissions and on-time delivery.
• Support interview/presentation development, debriefs, and broader marketing initiatives.
• Maintain proposal resources including resumes, templates, and boilerplate content.
• Manage multiple pursuits with high organizational standards.

Job Summary

Landrum & Brown (L&B) is seeking an experienced Senior Proposal Specialist to support the development of high-quality proposals and business development materials for aviation and transportation clients.

The Senior Proposal Specialist will manage proposals from solicitation review through final submission, working closely with technical professionals, business development leaders, marketing staff, and firm leadership.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and exceptionally detail oriented, with 5–10 years of proposal development experience and a strong commitment to accuracy, compliance, and quality.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You’ll Do:

• Manage the full proposal lifecycle for RFPs, RFQs, SOQs, and other client solicitations.
• Review solicitation documents and identify requirements, evaluation criteria, deadlines, and compliance needs.
• Develop proposal schedules, outlines, compliance matrices, assignments, and production plans.
• Coordinate proposal content with technical staff, project managers, business development leaders, and teaming partners.
• Write, edit, and refine proposal content to ensure it is clear, accurate, compelling, and responsive to client requirements.
• Tailor resumes, project descriptions, qualifications, and other materials for each pursuit.
• Coordinate graphics, document formatting, and final production consistent with L&B branding.
• Perform detailed quality-control reviews for accuracy, consistency, formatting, completeness, and compliance.
• Manage final electronic and print submissions and ensure all materials are delivered accurately and on time.
• Support interview and presentation development, proposal debriefs, and broader marketing and business development initiatives.
• Maintain accurate and current proposal resources, including resumes, project descriptions, templates, and boilerplate content.
• Manage multiple concurrent pursuits while maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, journalism, English, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• 10+ years of career experience which will include 5–10 years of proposal development experience, preferably within the aviation or transportation sector.
• Experience in other sectors within the Architecture, Engineering & Construction space is also of interest.
• Experience managing deadline-driven RFP, RFQ, and SOQ responses.Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to identify errors, omissions, inconsistencies, and compliance issues.
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, organizational, and project-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines without sacrificing accuracy or quality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign; experience with additional Adobe Creative Suite applications is preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Experience within the aviation, airport, transportation, architecture, engineering, or professional consulting industries.
• Familiarity with public-sector and qualifications-based procurement processes.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and external teaming partners.
• APMP certification or related proposal-management training is a plus.

Additional Information

Landrum & Brown is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of$105,000 - $140,000 annually for this position and local market.
