Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Proposal Manager in Orlando to lead pursuit efforts, coordinate marketing and technical teams, and drive winning content for high-value contracts.

You will manage schedules, mentor staff, and ensure compliance while promoting HDR’s capabilities and customer-focused approach across sectors.

Responsibilities

• Support pursuit teams to create win strategies and capture plans.
• Facilitate development of persuasive proposal and interview materials.
• Develop and manage proposal schedules and ensure compliance.
• Engage marketing resources in pursuit teams.
• Lead quality reviews of proposal and interview materials.
• Conduct debriefs to identify improvement opportunities and competitiveness.
• Deconstruct and file proposal materials post-submittal.
• Train and mentor employees on BD and marketing best practices.
• Articulate HDR's capabilities and competitive advantages.
• Lead pursuit teams in creating and implementing win strategies.
• Engage project management and technical talent in pursuit teams.
• Develop relationships with teaming partners.
• Coach interview teams for effective messaging during presentations.
• Maintain understanding of market trends and drivers.

In the role of Senior Proposal Manager, we'll count on you to:

• Support pursuit teams in creating and implementing effective win strategies (capture planning)
• Facilitate pursuit teams to develop persuasive proposal and interview materials
• Develop and manage proposal schedules and confirm compliance
• Engage the appropriate marketing services resources in pursuit teams
• Lead quality reviews of proposal and interview materials
• Facilitate debriefs to identify improvement opportunities and to measure overall competitiveness
• Deconstruct and file proposal and presentation material upon submittal
• Train and mentor employees on business development and marketing best practices
• Articulate HDR's capabilities and competitive advantages
• Lead pursuit teams in creating and implementing effective win strategies (capture planning)
• Engage the appropriate project management and technical talent in pursuit teams
• Develop business relationships with teaming partners
• Coach interview teams to be effective at delivering key messages during interview presentations
• Maintain a strong understanding of the market trends and drivers impacting our clients
• Actively participate in professional associations to elevate HDR's brand in target markets

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry's standard approach to procurement of professional services
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire others
• Ability and desire to travel and engage with others in-person
• Demonstrated experience in writing compelling content based on information from technical staff

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 8 years relevant industry experience
• Demonstrated "self-starter" with a history of completing projects with limited oversight
• Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign
• Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry's standard approach to procurement of professional services
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire others
• Demonstrated experience in winning high-value contracts in the A/E/C industry
• Demonstrated experience in writing compelling content based on information from technical staff
