Job summary

Ames Construction is recruiting a seasoned Proposal Manager to lead and coordinate proposal development for major heavy civil projects from our Denver office. You will drive win strategies, collect technical inputs, and ensure compliant, compelling content across all proposal sections.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Communications, or a related field.
  • Seven or more years of proposal management experience, preferably in heavy civil or construction.
  • Demonstrated experience in persuasive writing and basic graphic design.
  • Strategic and creative thinker with the ability to develop compelling content and messaging.
  • Skilled in conducting interviews with technical professionals.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • Exceptional organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and lead proposal kickoff meetings and win strategy sessions to define roles, responsibilities, timelines, and win themes.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, estimators, and other team members to gather project-specific information.
  • Collaborate with office leadership to identify key personnel to be named in the proposal and develop resumes.
  • Organize and format proposal content, ensuring compliance with client requirements.
  • Write, edit, and proofread proposal sections to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Coordinate proposal review meetings and track action items to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Create and maintain a proposal library of templates, boilerplate content, and graphics.
  • Support pursuit group through post-bid proposal clarification, BAFO, and negotiation processes including attending review meetings, updating proposal contents.
