Job summary

EMC seeks an experienced Property Claims Specialist to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle large and complex commercial property claims, including cyber claims, within authority. You will analyze records, reserve adequately, and coordinate with insureds, agents, and experts.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and about five years of property claims adjusting experience, with strong knowledge of insurance contracts and claims systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Five years of property claims adjusting experience or related experience.
• Relevant insurance designations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and evaluates large and moderately complex to complex commercial property claims and reinsured cyber claims as assigned; verifies coverage, deductibles, claim payee/mortgagees and compensability.
• Negotiates, settles and/or resolves claims; drafts and sends letters; evaluates cause of loss and writes detailed estimates for cost of repairs and value of damaged property.
• Active collaboration with Underwriting, Risk Improvement, SIU, and other units; prepares case materials for mediations, arbitrations, or lawsuits.
