Job summary

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. (AQN), the parent company of Liberty Utilities, seeks a Senior Accountant, Property Accounting (PowerPlan) in Londonderry, NH.

You will manage utility plant records, capitalization, depreciation, retirements, and regulatory reporting within GAAP and USoA, working with Engineering, Construction, and Finance teams. In this hybrid role, you will maintain asset data in PowerPlan, reconcile with SAP, prepare monthly close, and support regulatory filings and rate

Qualifications

• Experience in fixed-asset accounting and plant accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory accounting requirements.
• Ability to perform complex reconciliations and data analyses.
• Experience with PowerPlan and SAP integration is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and multi-deadline management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain utility plant accounting records in PowerPlan and ensure accurate capitalization and depreciation.
• Record plant additions, retirements, transfers, and other asset transactions per USoA guidance.
• Lead asset reconciliations across PowerPlan, SAP, and project accounting systems.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and close activities for plant accounting.
• Support regulatory reporting, rate cases, and audits with supporting schedules.
