Job summary

Benton Management Solutions (BMS) in Atlanta seeks a Senior Property Accountant to join its growing Real Estate Private Equity team. You will be responsible for timely and accurate financial reporting for assigned properties and collaborate with the Property Operations group.

The role reports to the Property Accounting Manager and requires reviewing monthly reports, cash analysis, budgets, and lease/renewal input in the accounting software, with emphasis on accuracy and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Review and complete monthly reports
• Complete monthly cash analysis for distributions or as needed per Controller
• Input budgets annually
• Review annual CTI reconciliations
• Receive tenant checks
• Deposit checks by writing them up and taking them to the bank or deposit thru remote deposit
• Post deposits to tenants’ accounts in the accounting software
• Review new leases & renewals in the accounting software
• Input billing adjustments into the accounting software
• Input tenant move out forms into the accounting software
• Review aging and rent rolls
• Review and Input invoices into accounting software
• Cut checks once a week for invoices due
• Process checks and mail out
• Calculate and process management fees
• Review and process 1099’s annually
• Run aging reports and discuss delinquencies with property managers
• Review and input reconciliations into the accounting software

This position will report to the Property Accounting Manager and will be responsible for the timely and accurate financial reporting of assigned properties, working directly with a stellar Property Operations team, responding timely and professionally to supervisors, external parties, and senior leadership, and maintaining flexibility for ad-hoc projects that benefit the operations of the company.

Position Overview:

Financials and GL:

• Review and complete monthly reports
• Complete monthly cash analysis for distributions or as needed per Controller
• Input budgets annually
• Review annual CTI reconciliations
