NY STATE ELECTRIC & GAS CORP in Kirkwood/Rochester, NY is seeking a Manager - Projects Unit to lead cross-functional teams across engineering, construction management, and project controls. You will ensure projects stay within budget, scope and schedule while meeting engineering standards and regulatory requirements.

The role covers projects in Maine, New York and Connecticut, requiring strong leadership, risk management and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 7 years PM experience.
• Experience leading complex, regulatory-sensitive enterprise initiatives.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules and scope.

Responsibilities

• Manage performance of team to meet goals, schedules, budgets and benefits.
• Identify interdependencies and resolve interactions among projects.
• Proactive scope control to mitigate changes.
• Ensure quality of work packages by the team.
• Produce briefings and status reports for executives or regulatory agencies.
• Represent the company in regulatory/public proceedings or permitting for projects.
• Ensure governance processes and procedures are followed within portfolio.
• Train/coach team members and hold teams accountable for results.
• Lead team meetings and drive progress against plans.
• Monitor progress and apply course corrections as needed.
• Ensure effective internal program communications.
• Develop procurement strategies for material, labor, requirements.
• Meet project requirements and support compliance, standardization and process improvement.
• Explore automation and efficiencies in day-to-day work streams.
• Oversee project accountability to comply with FERC, NERC and other regs.
