Job summary

BKF Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Surveyor to lead survey project delivery, mentor a team, and ensure quality standards across projects. The role includes client coordination, proposal support, and exploring new service opportunities, with occasional travel to BKF locations.

The ideal candidate has a PLS/LSIT (preferred), 4+ years of surveying experience, and strong CAD skills, especially Autodesk Civil 3D. A hybrid-remote arrangement may apply depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of surveying experience with increasing responsibility.
• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or LSIT is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction staking calculations reading plans and CAD files.
• Create mapping deliverables: boundary, ALTA, topographic surveys, plats, descriptions.
• Post-process field data from total station, GPS, levels, 3D laser scanners, and UAS.
• Build 3D site/structure models for owners, architects, engineers, contractors.
• Travel to multiple job sites and BKF offices; hybrid-remote may apply.

Join BKF Engineers as a Senior Project Surveyor

BKF Engineers is seeking a Senior Project Surveyor to join our team! This role focuses on leading survey project delivery, coordinating staff, and ensuring quality standards are met. The Senior Project Surveyor makes decisions on technical elements, mentors junior team members, and identifies opportunities for additional services. They may assist with proposals, attend project meetings, and support client coordination. The role also contributes to business development by promoting BKF's services and identifying new project opportunities. Responsibilities include and not limited to:

• Preparing construction staking calculations by reading plans and interpreting CAD files
• Creating mapping deliverables including boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, plats, and legal descriptions
• Post-processing field data collected via total station, GPS, levels, 3D laser scanners, and unmanned aerial systems
• Building 3D models of sites and structures for owners, architects, engineers, and contractors
• Travel to various job sites and offices may be required

• Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
• 4+ years of office surveying experience with progressively increasing responsibility
• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or LSIT is highly desired
• Deep understanding and experience of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment
• Proficient in CAD software, especially Autodesk Civil 3D
• Construction staking experience, including reading plans, construction calculations, and preparing cut sheets
• Experience processing laser scanning data, including registration and 3D modeling is nice to have
• Lead and initiate special projects as needed
• May require flexible hours
• Travel between BKF offices and other off-site locations may be required
• This position may be required to report to a BKF office on a hybrid-remote basis depending on location.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 20 pounds with accommodations.

Work Conditions:

Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Travel to other BKF locations and client sites may be required.

• The typical base salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $135,000.00 annualized depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. This is a salaried position, paid bi-weekly.
