Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Project Superintendent for commercial construction and community-focused projects including schools, fire stations, and municipal facilities.

You will lead on-site operations, manage field teams and subcontractors, and drive safety and schedule adherence across multiple sites. The role requires 15+ years in commercial construction supervision, strong leadership, and excellent communication with owners and inspectors.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 15+ years in commercial construction supervision.
• Experience leading community-focused projects (schools, fire stations, municipal buildings).
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and safety regulations.
• Proficiency with PMIS and Microsoft Office; ability to document and report.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day direction and supervision of all on-site field operations.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
• Manage field staff, subcontractors, and suppliers to align with project goals and schedules.
• Lead daily coordination meetings and oversee short-term planning and scheduling.
• Coordinate permit and regulatory inspections with local authorities.
• Maintain in-place quantities, time sheets, and documentation; ensure As-Built drawings are updated.
