Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Senior Project Scheduler for the Oil, Gas, & Chemical market in Houston, TX. This onsite role requires developing and updating schedules, communicating status and risks, and mentoring junior schedulers while aligning with corporate standards.

Based in the Energy Corridor, you will collaborate with project leadership to manage schedule changes, forecast impacts, and corrective actions, ensuring safe, efficient project delivery across EPC environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
• 10–15 years of construction or engineering scheduling experience.
• Proficient in Primavera P6.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Willingness to travel/relocate as needed.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

As a Senior Project Scheduler within our Oil, Gas, & Chemical market, you will get the opportunity to work closely with construction and engineering operations as you develop engineering and construction schedules. You will be responsible for building and updating schedules as various milestones and project deliverables are completed or added to scope of work. Communicate schedule status, critical-path changes, forecast impacts, and required corrective actions to project leadership and key stakeholders. Additional responsibilities include, training / mentoring of Junior Schedulers, and assisting with the development of corporate standards and procedures.

This position will be based at our Energy Corridor office in Houston, Texas, fully onsite. Responsibilities

• Work closely with project managers, engineers, designers, procurement staff, construction managers, contractors and other project services staff to provide detailed planning and scheduling of projects from conceptual planning through engineering and construction.
• Develop resource loaded schedules, including lists of activities, major milestones, critical approvals, long lead procurement items and other critical project deliverables to be scheduled and tracked for the projects.
• Develop schedule logic and constraints, realistic activity durations and available manpower and resources.
• Assess the impact of design changes and schedule slippages and inform company management and clients of all schedule updates.
• Apply advanced knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning terminology and concepts to develop and maintain critical path logic networks, schedule quality, baseline integrity, progress validation, update narratives, and mitigation or recovery analysis; accumulate and access historical data for use in maintaining realistic future planning and forecasting
• Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control problems. Interface with clients, attend regular meetings and give statistical reports.

Qualifications

• Ability to travel and relocate as needed.
• Lead scheduler, typically supervises a small-medium size team.
• Leads the planning & scheduling activities utilizing Primavera and an ability to apply a logical progression of project experience to support large complex and/or multiple small-medium project types.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, technical training, OR industry related experience.
• Must be proficient in Primavera (P6).
• 10-15 years’ construction or engineering scheduling experience.
• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes and standards, and an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units.
• Working knowledge of standard cost control methods utilized in the execution of various types of project (EPC, Joint Venture, Lump Sum, time and Material, Maintenance).
• Proficiency in various project controls software such as Excel and other company-specific software.
• Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
• Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.

• Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt.
