Job summary

LHB, Inc. is seeking aSenior Project Manager to join the Public Works Team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The role emphasizes cultivating client relationships, leading public works projects, and mentoring a cross-disciplinary team.

Preferred candidates have 8+ years in Civil Engineering, a PE license, and knowledge of MnDOT/state specifications. Hybrid work arrangement with relocation options may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited) is required.
• 8+ years of Civil Engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of MnDOT state-aid and Minnesota local agency specifications.
• Professional Engineer licensure is required.
• Ability to evaluate, plan, direct, manage, communicate, engage and oversee projects with varying levels of complexity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Foster relationships with existing clients while cultivating new relationships to drive growth in the public works portfolio.
• Identify and pursue municipal and roads & highways projects aligning with services.
• Mentor and support other project managers, engineers, and technicians.
• Monitor and track project budgets, staff utilization, and financial targets.
• Lead public works projects of varying complexity, scope, scale, and budgets.
• Lead the process of responding to RFPs for professional engineering services from clients.
• Lead public meetings and serve as a communication resource for public interactions.

Location

The position is preferred as hybrid based in our Minneapolis location. However, fully remote candidates with the ability to relocate to a location that allows for hybrid work within 6-12 months will be considered under the right circumstances. If outside MN, candidate must reside within the following states that LHB is licensed to do business: CO, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA MI, MN, MO, MS, ND, NE, OH, OK, PA, SD, TN, TX, WI, WY and relocate within 6-12 months of date of hire.

Position Summary

The responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:

• Leading public works projects of various complexity, scope, scale and budgets

• Lead the process of responding to requests for proposals for professional engineering services from clients

• Lead public meetings and be a communication resource for public interactions

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college

• 8+ years of Civil Engineering experience

• Working knowledge of MnDOT state-aid and Minnesota local agency specifications, design practices and project assembly requirements

• Professional Engineer licensure

• Ability to evaluate, plan, direct, manage, communicate, engage and oversee projects with varying degrees of complexity

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Progressive work experience directing and leading municipal and roads & highway projects in Minnesota

• Progressive experience overseeing engineering team members

• Proven ability to develop and maintain client base

Salary Range

• This position’s anticipated base salary range is$115,000- $139,000annually. This position is eligible for year-end bonuses. Offer will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
