Job summary

Puyenpa Services LLC is seeking a Senior Project Manager (Security) to lead security-focused programs for F-35 JPO-related initiatives. The role requires an active DoD Top Secret clearance and will coordinate with government personnel, contractors, and stakeholders in a DoD setting.

Location options include Arlington, VA or Patuxent River, MD. This is a full-time, 40-hour work week and may involve proposal work contingent on contract award and staffing authorization.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience supporting DoD functions.
• Ability to independently manage complex projects and provide senior leadership.
• Knowledge of the DoD 5000 Series Acquisition Framework.
• Minimum 4 years of general security experience.
• Experience in fast-paced, highly regulated environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to sign Letter of Intent.
• Preferred: PMP certification and experience with F-35 JPO or Major Defense Acquisition Programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of security programs and projects supporting F-35 JPO.
• Provide senior-level PM support across multiple functional areas aligning with objectives, cost, schedule, and performance.
• Act as trusted advisor to government leadership on status, risks, issues, and mitigation.
• Coordinate activities among government personnel, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Develop executive briefings, reports, and project documentation.
• Facilitate meetings, working groups, and program reviews.
• Track and manage deliverables, milestones, and metrics.
• Support DoD acquisition guidance and processes in program management.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation plans for mission success.
• Mentor project teams and drive continuous process improvement.
• Interface with senior government officials, military leadership, and stakeholders.

Job description

Puyenpa is seeking a Senior Project Manager (Security)for an upcoming proposal supporting the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Joint Program Office (JPO) Security Services Contract. This position serves as a senior-level advisor and project leader responsible for overseeing security-related initiatives, supporting acquisition program objectives, coordinating stakeholder activities, and ensuring effective execution of program requirements.

The successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise, manage complex projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and support leadership decision-making in a dynamic Department of Defense environment. This position will be located in Arlington, VA. Or Patuxent River, MD. and is structured as a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role. An active DoD Top Secret clearance is required.

This is a proposal position and is contingent upon contract award, customer approval, and final staffing authorization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of security-related programs and projects supporting F-35 JPO mission requirements.
• Provide senior-level project management support across multiple functional areas, ensuring alignment with program objectives, cost, schedule, and performance goals.

• Support acquisition and program management activities in accordance with Department of Defense acquisition guidance and processes.
• Identify program risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure successful mission execution.
• Provide subject matter expertise and mentorship to project teams while supporting continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Interface effectively with senior government officials, military leadership, and program stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A combination of education and additional relevant experience may be considered consistent with contract requirements.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience supporting program, project, acquisition, security, or related Department of Defense functions.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex projects and provide senior-level guidance and leadership.
• Working knowledge of the DoD 5000 Series Acquisition Framework and acquisition processes.
• Minimum 4 years of general security experience.
• Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience preparing and presenting executive-level briefings.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Will be required to sign Letter of Intent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting the F-35 Joint Program Office, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), or other Major Defense Acquisition Programs.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Experience supporting security, program protection, physical security, personnel security, industrial security, or special access programs.
• Familiarity with risk management, strategic planning, and performance management methodologies.
• Experience leading cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
