Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the Transportation group in Florida locations, including Lake Mary, Orlando, Coral Gables, Miami and Jacksonville. You will supervise a team, assign tasks, and ensure schedules and quality across projects.

Ideal candidates bring a PE license in Florida, 15+ years in transportation engineering and project management, and strong client relations. This role requires coordinating with agencies and leading business development and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• P.E. license in Florida required or in process.
• 15+ years in transportation engineering and project management.
• FDOT design experience a plus.
• Ability to discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies.
• Strong time-management, budgeting, scheduling and resource use skills.

A leadership opportunity exists with Stantec for a highly motivated Senior Project Manager to join the Transportation group in Lake Mary, Orlando, Coral Gables, Miami and Jacksonville, Florida. This role will provide supervision and guidance to a group of employees, assigning tasks, checking work at frequent intervals for accuracy and completeness; and maintaining schedules. #2158Florida

Your Key Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining strong client relationships that allow us to have a positive impact on the communities we serve and grow our people through work on exciting and challenging projects.

• Develop value-added solutions to clients' needs and lead the successful pursuit of contracts for engineering and consulting services.

• Increase the company's profile within the transportation industry through participation with appropriate business and professional organizations.

• Perform strategic planning and plan execution for both operations and business development.

• Planning, organizing, and supervising the work of other transportation professionals.

• Effectively negotiate, plan, monitor and deliver quality projects and consulting services.

• Reviewing engineered designs and plans for conformance with applicable state, regional & local agency standards.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Experience in designing roadway design projects. Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) design experience a plus.

• Comprehensive understanding of all phases of project document production.

• Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies.

• Possesses excellent time-management skills; Thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting and efficient use of time and resources.

• Thorough understanding of codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions.

• Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.

• Proficient in relevant design software, Microstation and OpenRoads/Geopak.

• Experience in Temporary Traffic Control (MOT) analysis and plan development.

• Experience in roadway pavement design analysis and development.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensed in the State of Florida

• 15+ years of progressive engineering and project management Transportation experience.

Pay Transparency

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
